Hillary, Hillary, Hillary

I must admit that when I stopped blogging well over a year ago I did so out of a need to stop writing about Politics. I do not intend to completely stay away from the political fray but to instead include other things in my writing.

With that said, I will admit that I voted for Obama in the Georgia Primary. A state where Clinton finished third, in a five person race behind Obama and Huckabee. After I cast my vote I felt pretty good about either candidate being our next president and felt great that I was watching history in the making.

But lately there is a list that is entirely too long of statements that have left a bad taste in my mouth and make it hard for me to be excited about her running in this race.

1. She says her husband wrapped up the Democratic nomination in June 1992...and that it is not unusual for a candidate to go all the way to the June Primary using her husband Bill as an example. Wrong

2. The strange connection she made to RFK's assasination and her candidacy.

3. Let us not forget the 1996 trip to Bosnia where she claimed she was under fire and this somehow makes her battle tested and ready for the presidency...but if you are going to 'Misspoke' as she has stated, make sure you don't have a comedian on the tour with you are a songwriter because they will make sure you never live it down.

Got this from Fuzzlover. I think this is fitting for todays events.

Rejected

More wonderful political news for the day, First South Dakotans rejected a law that would have banned virtually all abortions, and Arizona became the first state to defeat an amendment to ban gay marriage and Missouri approved a measure backing stem cell research.

Dems win

What a day. First the Dems take back the House and are on the verge of winning the Senate. Then Rumsfeld resigns. And Now Pelosi will become the first female Speaker of the House
and Democrat Deval Patrick became the country's second black governor ever What a day. I think I finally understand the joy of Christmas. :-)

Seriously finally we can have some checks and balance in our government and Bush may finally be forced to work with members of the other party and act like a true President.

Religious Right Angry with Condi

The religious right had their panties in a wod or maybe they just have a wedgy. Any who they are all pissed off because Condoleezza Rice and First Lady Laura Bush swore in the AIDS Czar Mark Dybul.
This Associated Press photo of the ceremony also shows a First Lady Laura Bush and Dybul's homosexual "partner," Jason Claire. During her comments, Rice referred to the presence of Claire's mother and called her Dybul's "mother-in-law," a term normally reserved for the heterosexuals who have been legally married...
"We have to face the fact that putting a homosexual in charge of AIDS policy is a bit like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse," says Sprigg. "But even beyond that, the deferential treatment that was given not only to him but his partner and his partner's family by the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is very distressing."
Do these people even realize how bigoted they sound...probably not I'm sure.

How Low can you go? G-d and Moses oppose minimum wage increase

First of all I believe using religious like figures in politics is just wrong but Stop 42, the group opposed to Amendment 42, a ballot initiative in Colorado to raise the state minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.85. The initiative, if it passes will also adjust anually for inflation.

You have to watch this add, these people have sunk pretty low. I am sure that G-d would want us to help people out of poverty.

Thank you Think Progress
