I can not believe this. For those of you who are not quiet sure what racism looks like this is it. This man Arthur S. Lawson Jr. is directly responsible for the deaths of G-d knows how many people during the aftermath of the hurricane Katrina.
He refused to allow people to self evacuate from New Orleans by not allowing evacuees to cross the bridge that lead from New Orleans to Gretna. In other words if you were black you were blocked from evacuating New Orleans by the Gretna police.
Gretna Police Chief Arthur S. Lawson, Jr. ordered his officers to fire their weapons at people trying to cross the bridge that lead into Gretna. His officers actually fired shots at people that tried to cross the bridge.
Now he says that his actions were not racially motivated give me a break. On Thursday the Gretna City council passed a resolution backing this Bigot. And as far TBLJ is concerned the city council and Lawson are now responsible for the deaths of innocent people.
I urge you to send an email to the mayor and tell him/her how human beings should always come first and to fire Arthur Lawson
