Voting Rights Act Extensions Pass House Despite GOP Infighting

The WP has the breakdown. Big suprise all 33 that voted against the VRA are Republicans. Not bad for a party that claims it is trying to reach out to minority voters. The House rejected ammendments that would have changed and weakend the VRA. WP also has the break down by state. 20 that voted against were from the South and 10 from the West. 32 were men and 1 was a female.

Now, I just need to know how this compares to when the law was passed in 1965 and when the ammendments were added in the 70's. If anyone knows I'd like to here from you.
