GOP-Run Senate Kills Minimum Wage Increase

Update: Kennedy -- Nine years they've waited, nine years they've waited, but not the members of the United States Senate: $30,000 we've increased our salary. In nine years, we've refused to provide an increase to the men and women that are working on the lowest rung of the economic ladder.

Bastards. Why is it that the Senate and more specifically the republican controlled Senate has no problems giving themselves pay raises but are not willing to increase the minimum wage.
Americans believe that no one who works hard for a living should have to live in poverty. A job should lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it," said Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass. He said a worker paid $5.15 an hour would earn $10,700 a year, "almost $6,000 below the poverty line for a family of three."
My wonderful butt of a Senator Johnny Isakson had this to say.
"For every increase you make in the minimum wage, you will cost some of them their jobs,"
Give me a break like I said before they have no problems giving themselves pay raises
