Wal-Mart Employees win $172 M

Thursday a jury awarded $172 million to Wal-Mart empolyees. The Jury found Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer violated a Califronia state law that requires employers to give 30-minute, unpaid lunch breaks to employees who work at least six hours. Of course Wal-Mart plans to appeal.

Wal-Mart has settled a similar lawsuit in Colorado for $50 million. There is also a federal lawsuit pending in San Francisco which accuses Wal-Mart of paying men more than women.
